Realtor Branding Photos in Calgary: KD Singh (PREP) Case Study

Calgary’s market is cooler, so trust > hype. In one late-evening session split between KD Singh’s listing and the PREP (Preferred Real Estate Professionals) office, we built a photo set that shows KD’s face, process, and the keys-handoff moment—and mapped every image to his website, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile.

KD’s reputation is strong, but his online presence didn’t show the full story—mostly a standard headshot. Buyers and sellers in Calgary want to see the person and the process: how you meet, what you review, and the confidence that you’ll close.
What was missing?
A hero portrait that holds up on tiny mobile/Maps previews
Process photos (consultation, paperwork) showing how KD works
A clear “handoff” symbol to signal trust and completion
The plan (shot list → outcomes)
We designed a 45–60 minute micro-session around five moments. Each shot has a job:
Hero portrait (listing kitchen): credibility + approachability → Website hero, LinkedIn, GBP
Hands-clasped portrait (listing counter): authority → About page, media/profile cards
Consultation (listing kitchen): service clarity → Services page, IG carousel
Keys handoff (macro): trust/completion → GBP + social posts
Workspace & lifestyle (PREP office): reliability + personality → blog, About, email header
We shot after sunset while the office was still active. A soft key + bounce kept skin tones clean and backgrounds controlled, so the set feels natural without daytime light.
Execution (lighting, locations, expression)
Lighting: portable soft key + natural bounce for neutral whites and clean catchlights.
Locations: KD’s listing kitchen for warmth/approachability; PREP office hall and glass walls for confidence and context.
Guiding expression: shoulders down-and-back, chin tiny forward, 5% “camera squint,” breath → half-smile.
Delivery: vertical crops for reels/GBP; wide crops for banners; all files in sRGB, web + retina sizes.
Personal note: I shoot like a conversation. The first “safe” frame warms us up; the keeper usually happens around minute twelve when people forget the camera.
